The Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP) was created and founded by Dr. Li-Li Hsiao at Harvard College. 

 

In 2014, University of Pittsburgh established Pitt Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (PKDSAP) under the leadership of Moulika Baireddy. Mentorship was provided by Dr.Pastor-Soler and Dr. Laurel Roberts. 

 

In addition to spreading awareness through hosting events and meetings, PKDSAP also has a Community Kidney Disease Detection (CKDD) Team. This team  runs screenings in medically underserved communities around Pittsburgh. Trained students perform skills such as blood pressure measurements, blood glucose level measurement, Body Mass Index/Waist to Hip ratio calculations, and urine analysis.
